marketplace- which should increase production - while reducing
costs across the beef and dairy industry.
The problem areas we have identified represent a substantial group
of ever-increasing opportunities for the Company.
These foundational business activities within the beef and dairy
business are only the beginning. As a result of our business model,
and our unique manufacturing process, we will produce a number of
spin-off activities. These include multiple applications for the
delivery of gamma globulins, the precursor materials that are derived
from our manufacturing activity for the beef and dairy industry.
Our innovative outlook to optimize animal production ensures strong
continued growth of applications for our technology well into the
future.
In cows and horses, unlike humans, there is no natural transfer of
gamma globulins through the mother's placenta. Instead, the newborn
normally receives gamma globulins through the mother's milk shortly
after birth. This early milk (colostrum) contains
immunoglobulins(IgG’s), which provide almost immediate immunity for
the offspring. Newborn calves and foals are very susceptible to
infection immediately after birth and are normally provided protection
by mother's first milk (colostrum), which is rich in IgG. This
mechanism of protection is commonly referred to as Passive Transfer of
IgG and is the primary means of defense until the offspring's own
immune system can provide sufficient levels of IgG to protect the
animal.
Simply stated, we are attacking multiple problems, each one of
which costs its respective industry hundreds of millions and even
billions of dollars in lost production and outright loss of animals in
some cases.
In the Beef Industry, Bovine Respiratory Disease ( BRD) , costs the
industry in excess of one billion dollars per year. Our RP- Bridge™
product, produced from our patented technology, offers a “bridge™” for
the period of time until active immunity of the animal kicks-in to
protect the animal from environmental challenges. The mist-like
delivery of RP-Bridge™ can be utilized throughout the logistics system
for moving cattle from birth to harvest.
VDx ‘s “ bridge” technology, based on our patented biotechnology
will help launch additional applications in the human field as well. |
